Assist. Prof. Dr. İsmail ERTON


He was born in Ankara in 1970. He completed his secondary and high school education at Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School. He completed his BA (1994) and MA (1997) at the Faculty of Letters, English Linguistics Department of Hacettepe University and his PhD (2004) at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Education, at the Department of English Language Education. He started his professional career at Turkish American Association. Worked 3 years at Ankara University and 9 years at Bilkent University, Faculty Academic English Program. Currently, he is the Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Translation and Interpretation. He is also the Director of Atılım University Academic Writing and Advisory Center.

CURRENT RESEARCH

Contribution of Personality Traits of Atılım University students (Introversion, Extroversion, Ambiversion) to their development of Language Learning Styles and Strategies and their effects on Success in Foreign Language Achievement at Freshman Level.

Purpose of Research: To determine the Atılım University 1st year student profile from a scientific approach to pave the way to design English courses for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students.
